Shooting the cannon, your child begins to see that there is a range in force and in their own strength. Different applications of force end in different results. They witness the use of waterpower and start to understand pointing and directing as they aim the cannon at the target. The toy’s built-in stages and repetition activate the feedback and feed-forward mechanism in the brain, leading to training and improving cognitive abilities.
Your child learns problem solving as they play with the cannon. Trial and error with aiming and shooting lets them see that it is okay to fail at first, that success may not come immediately, but only with practice, new learning, and perseverance.
The water cannon sets a scene of excitement in which your child can participate and even become a character themselves. They can pretend to be a circus clown shooting a cannon and imagine all kinds of stories.

Physical Development
As your child presses the red button to activate the cannon and thrust the ball out through it with their force, they are exerting big, gross motor movement with their hand. Muscles throughout your child’s whole body are used in running after balls and collecting them, not to mention in throwing up their hands triumphantly after a great shot!
The challenge of the toy, aiming the cannon, pressing with force, and trying to get the ball through the target is balanced out by the calming and empowering experience of the water.
The water cannon supports greater hand-eye coordination as your child learns to aim towards the target, adjust the angle of the target, and press the button to activate the cannon and shoot the balls out through it. A short, hard press and a long, soft press make use of different muscles and affect the ball differently, and your child coordinates the use of both hands together.

At this stage, your child is no longer solely engaging in parallel play but wants to play with other children. The water cannon can be shared with other children, like siblings in the tub or friends in the baby pool, fostering lively communication.

How do I set the cannon and target in the tub?
Attach the cannon to the bottom of the tub with its suction cups. Attach the target to the bottom or side of the tub using its own suction cups, positioned so you can aim it.

What is the required water level for operating the cannon?
If the cannon is at the small, lowered height, the minimum water level is 2 inches (5 cm) and the maximum water level is 5 inches (12 cm). At the tall, extended height, the maximum water level is 6 inches ( 16 cm).

How is the cannon fired?
Load the ball into the cannon’s opening, aim it at the target, and then press the red button to fire it.

What do I do if the product stops working?
The product may stop working if there is not enough water, or if there is too much water and it enters the mouth of the cannon. If that happens, empty out the water or extend the cannon so it sits taller.
The product may also stop working when the filter is blocked by dirt, hair, or soap. In order to fix this, simply take out the filter mesh (located at the bottom of the base of the cannon) and wash it with soap and water until it is clean. When the cannon is sparkly clean, reinsert the filter. If the product still doesn’t work, please contact our customer support center.

How should I store the toy between baths?
The cannon can be placed in an open, dry location. There is a storage basket for storing the balls.

What should I do if I notice mold developing?
It is recommended to properly rinse, drain, and dry out the product after every use. Unless you do that, Yookidoo® bath toys will need a good cleaning every two weeks or so in order to remain mold-free. When a thorough cleaning is required, fill up a bucket with water and add in some vinegar. Let the toy soak in the vinegar water for around 20 minutes, then activate it a few times to circulate the water through it. Repeat this step with clean water to wash out the vinegar.
