Play & Develop
Cognitive Development
As your child drop the balls into the tower, they begin to develop an understanding of a more evolved “indirect cause and effect.” When your child stacks the blocks, they are assessing problems and experimenting with solutions, stretching their cognitive abilities.
Dropping balls into the tower, allows your child to see gravity in action, and to understand the concept of object permanence when it reappears. When your child twirls the gears and watches the other gears twirling as a result, they begin to understand how things interact. Knocking down the structures, they see cause & effect, and activities “on,” “around,” and “under” the shapes help them learn about spatial relationships.
The tower’s delights will inspire your child’s curiosity. When balls are dropped, the sounds differ, so your child will wonder about the variations. Peeking through its holes will surprise as the balls appear and disappear. Build whatever size tower baby likes, up to five stories high and in any order.

Physical Development
Stacking and turning the gears on the side of the stackers, promotes the development of your child’s fine motor skills as they use differentiated digits, the pincer grip, and increased palm rotation which is important for later development.
Multiple materials and textures promote tactile exploration. The bright colors and the exciting sounds also provide visual and auditory stimulation, promoting greater exploration of the senses.
Stacking blocks and putting balls into the tower, improves your child’s hand-eye coordination. As your child becomes more coordinated, model putting the ball into a more narrow opening instead of the wide funnel.

Social & Emotional Development
As your child stacks, they configure according to their desires. The tower may be big or small; the wings and gears may be lined up orderly or at random. Learn about your child’s tendencies and prompt them to expand their repertoire. “Let’s try it a new way now!”
The fact that there is a single entry hole with multiple balls sets the stage for communication. Take turns with your child, and engage by saying, “Now Mommy waits for her turn to drop the ball. Now it’s Baby’s turn.”
Building– and breaking – a tower, makes a child feel capable. Also, breaking and rebuilding the tower reinforces the positive importance of trial and error and places the natural desire to break things within the safe context of a game.
