Play & Develop
Cognitive Development
Using the watering can to make the snail pop up or the flower to open fosters an understanding of cause-and-effect relationships. This playful activity also introduces essential STEM principles, such as concepts of full and empty, the transformative power of water, and the dynamics of tools and systems.
As children pour water from the water can into the toys, it causes the snail to pop up or the flower to unfold revealing a hidden bumblebee. This ignites your little one's curiosity and motivates them to explore and comprehend the underlying mechanisms of how and why things work as they do.
Watering the flowerpots introduces a whole world of pretend play. Children can enjoy playful interactions like peek-a-boo with the friendly bumblebee, grow an entire imaginary garden and interact with the toys.

Physical Development
Watering the flowerpots requires your child to fully lift their arms, engaging the shoulder girdle and contributing to the development and strengthening of their gross motor skills.
The act of tipping the watering can and purposefully aiming it into the correct opening fosters the development of your child's hand-eye coordination.

Social & Emotional Development
Make up a story about the snail. Share nursery rhymes like “Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow?” Ask your child what other plants they want to grow in their garden. Make up a story about the snail, worm and bumblebee characters with your child.
Pouring water out of the watering can and setting off the flower’s chain reaction is a perfect opportunity to model sharing a toy and taking turns – either with you or with a sibling or friend. “First it’s my turn to water the flower. Now it’s your turn.”
